From niche streaming channel to global distribution
The Beginning
DanceTV started in 2008 as an ambitious project: a 24/7 dance music television channel. At that time, streaming was still in its infancy and the technical infrastructure to build and operate such a channel was a challenge in itself.
The Technical Challenge
A 24/7 streaming channel requires:
- Reliable playout infrastructure that never stops
- Content management system for thousands of music videos
- Multi-platform encoding for different devices
- Advertising integration (SSAI/VAST)
- Analytics and monitoring
- CDN architecture that scales
All of this had to be built at a time when cloud services were still limited and most knowledge about streaming was scarce. Much was developed through trial and error, by building, learning, and iterating.

This distribution didn't happen by itself. It required years of relationship building, technical integrations, and meeting the specific requirements of each platform.
